SEO stands for ‘Search Engine Optimization’. SEO is the process of taking steps to improve the ranking of a website or piece of content on  Google. It involves a variety of techniques for increasing traffic to your website and improving its ranking, both paid and unpaid (organic).

On-Page SEO :

This category of SEO includes all factors that are determined by the elements that comprise web pages. The user is responsible for all On-Page efforts. On-Page ranking factors include the following:

a) Content : The content should be relevant, clear and easy to understand. The customer should be able to grasp and understand the content quickly and move ahead with his actions in the website.

b) Title Tags : These are clickable headlines with a 50–60 letter character spread. By clicking on this Title Tag, the consumer should be able to navigate to the desired portion of the website.

c) Meta Tags : These give information/descriptions about a certain aspect or section. They can have a maximum of 160 characters.

d) URL’s : These are links which show the information about the page which they lead to after clicking.

e) Alt text : It is used to describe the photos on a website.

Off-Page SEO :

This category includes all factors over which the user has no control. Google, social networks, blogs, and other online factors determine the ranking. It includes the blog’s domain and page authority, backlinks, and number of shares. The following are few of the Off-page ranking factors:

a) Links : These are links to your website from other websites or social media accounts.

b) Brand Image :  If your brand is popular and offers products and services of a great quality, customers would naturally come to your website to avail your services again or buy your again.

 c) Social : This relates to customer feedback on your product or service, as well as consumer opinions. Consumer participation on various platforms would also be beneficial.
